Two LINC mission churches in Houston hosted food distribution on Saturday, May 18. Communidad de Gracia (CDG) and Centro de Fe y Esperanza (CDFE) distributed food to those who needed help with groceries for the week.
They had a large number of volunteers show up to help.
At the Communidad de Gracia, partner church Family of Faith members came to help set up and get things ready for the distribution.
Peter Bergman and his family were just a few among others from Family of Faith who came to help distribute food.
He says they have been trying to organize a group to come at least once a summer, but this year they are going to try to come every month to help volunteer their time to make this a stronger community church.
Bergman says he has seen incredible change take place at CDG over the years, and says the community here is just amazing to be apart of when they come.
Pastor Nelson Rodriguez says it's great to see everyone here coming to help out on a day like this, because it is a lot of work.
He says he really appreciates the volunteers who come from the community and the church.
The food for the distributions at CDG and CDFE come from donations and the Houston Food Bank. Each mission congregation pays a fee for the food from the Houston Food Bank, so monetary and food donations are always welcome.
Long Lines form each Saturday that the churches hold food distribution. There is a great need in the communities these churches serve in. They ask for any help they can get whether it is your time or a donation.
